Rear Admiral Imtiaz Ali SI(M) T.BT & BAR has assumed the Command of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency as Director General on 06 Apr 2023. He is a recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) & has been conferred with Tamgha-e-Basalat twice in recognition of displaying utmost valour at a couple of occasions.

Operations

PMSA conduct Search and Rescue (SAR), Marine Pollution Control, Anti-Poaching, Anti-Smuggling and Drug Trafficking operations with regular patrolling and surveillance of Pakistan EEZ.

Ex BARRACUDA

Exercise

PMSA conducts annual marine oil spill response exercise of BARRACUDA series since 2007. Apart from meeting national objectives on environmental control and anti-pollution drives, Ex BARRACUDA also provides a common platform to deliberated upon and run through the response mechanism for range of marine pollution incidents’ including SAR exercise.

HOW TO BE SAFE AT SEA

Wearing life jackets while at sea will definitely increase your survival time in the water.
Boat Captain is Responsible to only carry limited number of passengers as per boat design and with due regard to weather.
Take two separate waterproof ways of communicating so we can help you if you get into difficulties. You should not expect good mobile phone coverage in remote areas. For emergency communications a marine VHF radio is recommended. Use channel 16 for emergencies.
Check the local marine weather forecast before you go and expect both weather and sea state changes.
Make sure your boat is properly and regularly maintained, registered and has the right safety gear on board and if it has a motor, that it has sufficient fuel.
A little attention can save precious lives. Boat Captains and owners are responsible to carry essential first aid and fire fighting kits when proceeding to sea or even plying in harbor.

جانے سے پہلے مقامی سمندری موسم کی پیشن گوئی چیک کریں اور موسم اور سمندری حالت دونوں میں تبدیلی کی توقع رکھیں۔
اس بات کو یقینی بنائیں کہ آپ کی کشتی رجسٹرڈ ہو اور اس کی مناسب طریقےاور باقاعدگی سے دیکھ بھال اور کشتی پر صحیح حفاظتی آلات ہوں اور اگر اس میں انجن ہے، تو اس میں کافی ایندھن بھی موجود ہونا چاہے۔
آپ کی تھوڑی سی توجہ قیمتی جانوں کو بچا سکتی ہے۔ کشتی کے ناخدا اور مالکان سمندر کی طرف جاتے وقت یا بندرگاہ پر چلتے وقت ضروری ابتدائی طبی امداد اور آگ بجھانے والے آلات لے جانے کے ذمہ دار ہیں۔
